The Fluidity of HR Brand Selling

HRBS encompasses many different fluid parts including the psychological contract, the verbal ‘nod & wink’ and employer social responsibility (ESR).

The psychological contract refers to the often unspoken set of expectations and assumptions that two parties (employees and employer) have of each other about how they should behave, act and treat each other.

The verbal ‘nod & wink’ contract is where the employer has told the employee, of the two way set of expectations and assumptions between them both. The employer social responsibility (ESR) is the employer’s self-regulation towards societal and community goals, in a supportive and ethical way.

When the employer breaks the psychological contract and especially the verbal ‘nod & wink’ contract, the employee will rightly depart the company or public office. Also, if the employer is neglecting their societal responsibilities, and being unethical, this would be a good enough reason for an employee to leave or not join in the first place.

How do you create an organisation where talented employees want to stay and future talent wants to join, well, you make sure as an organisation you increase the HR Brand Selling (HRBS) of your organisation.
